By the time December 24th and my Christmas holidays rolled around, I realized something had to go. I was exhausted from keeping up with everything I had on my plate and I didn't have the energy I needed to also care for and help my family. I spent the following week thinking hard about what needed to change in the structure of my work.
I decided that stopping this newsletter for the foreseeable future was the right move. There are a lot of good reasons to continue this newsletter, but I can't do everything all the time. I hope that someday in the future my commitments change and I have time to start doing it again, so consider Apple Home Weekly dormant rather than dead.
I'm also going to try a new schedule on YouTube, publishing every other Wednesday instead of aiming for every Wednesday. This will give me more energy to put into each video and more time for other things. I also plan to test some video weeks as a collection of short videos instead of one full-length video. We'll see how that goes and what people ultimately tap on.
One of the other things I've been working on that you guys haven't seen yet are big plans I have for BestPhotos in 2022. I'm excited to launch those when they are ready.
Thank you for reading this newsletter, watching my YouTube channel, and, or using BestPhotos. I couldn't do any of this without you guys and I'm excited about what lies ahead for all of us.
Wishing you all the best in 2022.
Happy new year,
Eric Welander
Thanks for writing these! I enjoyed reading them each week.
I'll miss the newsletter and more frequent YouTube videos, but OTOH I completely understand. Congratulations on having the courage to strike a reasonable work-life balance. Have a safe and prosperous New Year!
